Our vision

It is well-known the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the world in a variety of ways, none more so than the recent lack of international sports. Many Australians would consider this to be the most dejecting factor, and the team at Through the Scope Sports Team is no exception. We have been forced to fill the void of our beloved Australian Football League so far this year, as we patiently await the season's return.

Following the postponement of the 2020 AFL season after the completion of round one, TTSS comprised four player performance recaps. We took an in-depth look into a range of specific movements and attributes displayed by individual players, which allowed them to positively influence their team's performance. The players analysed through the scope after round one were Marcus Bontempelli, Scott Pendlebury, Mason Cox and Hugh Greenwood, in an attempt to demonstrate how certain skills adapted from their basketball backgrounds translated into their now-professional football careers.

However, it is well known the absence of the 2020 AFL season will officially conclude when play returns on Thursday, June 11. Therefore, football fans will not only rejoice as they watch their favourite athletes compete again, but will also have the opportunity to view performance recaps of these players, with the help of exclusive slow-motion footage delivered by TTSS. Following the season's resumption, we will begin releasing one recap each round, while the players analysed through the scope will vary between all 18 clubs. Similar to the round one recaps, we will focus on a range of movements and attributes displayed by the players, such as decision making, withstanding physical pressure, and marking ability.

In the coming weeks, TTSS will announce the player who will be analysed through the scope in round two, beginning June 11. To ensure the AFL resumes in the near future, along with numerous other social events which are not currently viable, we encourage everyone to continue following government guidelines, practise social distancing, and maintain good hygiene.

Stay tuned for more news, and we hope you're as excited for June 11 as we are!
